Time

Time is a tricky thing, as I lay in bed staring into the great dark abyss as i listen to each tick toc of the clock hands go by. A second can feel like a life time, and a life time can go by in a second!

Waiting anxiously for results either for something good, or bad can seem like time can’t go fast enough! Then looking into your grandbeauties eyes and remembering when her mother was that age seemily just yesterday!

Where does time go? Time flys…. does it? Gods time isn’t even “our” time. The bible talks about God not being restricted to “our” time here on earth.

2 Peter 3:8 But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

I cannot fathom what it would be like to live outside of time… to not be slave to the hours in a day. Which there never seem to be enough of. Yet we all, take advantage of this thing called time. The devil likes to keep us busy, rushed, hurried, overwhelmed by the ticking of time! For if our plate is so full of things we have to get done in one day like appointments for yourself, your kids your spouse even our animals have appointments these days. “Then theres the cooking the cleaning the mending and oh Lucifer make sure Lucifer gets his bath” lol any one recognize that? Yes its from Cinderella! I totaly just made the connection that the cats name is devil and she (Cinderella) was a slave to him! Light bulb moment!

Oh boy, there is some major life prepping Disney was pounding into our poor little girl brains. Shame on them! Ok Disney rant for another blog post, back to time….

Yes time. Here is the definition:

noun
the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.

Interesting isn’t it that it says continued progress. I for one can say there has been many times that my time spent doing xyz did not feel like progress. In fact it felt like time stood still turned its ugly head back at me and did an attitude head shake back and forth saying “really your going to waste my precious time doing THAT!” Ha um yeah, I am time! Then I will lay in bed tonight and go over in my little brain all the wasted time I spent making no progress today!

Luke 12:25 says “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? ”

Theres that time thing again in the bible, I think God had us pegged from the begining of time on earth! Time is a great reminder of the small things we take for granted. Time is now, the present the only thing we can be is now, in the present! Use it wisely, see the beauty of every second in the day as the greatsest opportunities to love, laugh, enjoy life as God intended! Once its gone you cannot get it back.

I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Yes the wise old Gandalf had great advice for little Frodo.

A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.

Amazing how even the Godless can still see the great importance of time…

I leave you with these vereses:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; …

Psalm 90:12 ESV

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom

Ephesians 1:10 ESV

As a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
