Cup ‘o’ Jesus

Have you ever woke up in a bad mood? Some times due to not sleeping well, or a bad dream…. sometimes for no apartent reason at all.

Unfortunately it happens all to often with me. For starters, I have never been a morning person as far back as childhood. I have had depression since I was a child which is I am sure had a major factor as to why I did not like mornings.

Have you ever tried to be something your not?

I actually tried to be a “happy”, “delightful”, “smiling”, “morning” person one time. Emphasis on ONE. I am actually much better than I usee to be. I can say good morning to everyone in a pleasant tone now. I laugh every time I see memes on social media about morning people and the coffee cups that tell the world to leave you alone until after the 5th pot of coffee!

Im not a caffeine morning drinker, due to health issues. I do enjoy an occasional cup of coffee. So my morning cup of joe is my morning cup ‘of’ Jesus! The days I can get out of bed before anyone else and read my bible are the days I start the day off being a better person! I am awake before anyone, its the getting out of bed that is the hard part!

Trying to be something we are not is really exhausting! We were created to be in fellowship with God, daily! We have an inner cup, that if filled with the right ingredients can energize better than any cup of coffee!

How do you start your day? Is Jesus the first thing on your mind in the morning?

For me I open my eyes, and ask Jesus for strength to get up. I have high functioning depression. I am sure it wouldn’t be “high functioning” with out God’s help! I have learned to expect it ; also knowing It makes me focus on God for help sooo much more! I do not wish this on any one, even though it strengthens my walk with God.

We all do need God in our daily lives. He has come to give us life and life more abundant! Fulfilling Gods plans in our lives is the most fulfilling feeling! Say that 5 times fast, without getting tounge tied! When we are who God created us to be, it is empowering!
